Peninsula Energy is involved in the exploration, extraction and processing of uranium ore, as well as the reclaiming and monitoring of sites after they have been mined. After new uranium deposits are identified, the ore is extracted using various methods: open-pit mining, underground mining or in-situ recovery.  The ore is then processed in plants near the extraction sites.

Peninsula Energy acquired a 74% interest in 36 prospecting rights covering 5 600km2 of the main uranium-molybdendum bearing sandstone channels in the Karoo basin in December 2012.

AMB Capital, as shareholder and financial advisor, assisted in the negotiation and structuring of the BEE consortium’s participation in this prospective opportunity.  Going forward, Peninsula aims to complete a bankable feasibility study on the project by the end of 2014 with production being targeted to commence in 2016.
